LESSON 3 OF 8 · TABLE 1: SEATING, ROUND ROBIN, ACTIVE LISTENING

Generate

Each person writes causes alone, one per card, before reading anyone else’s. A card written after reading the wall is not an independent observation; it is a reply.

Twenty minutes in, one member has written nothing and is reading the wall. Another has written “Jovan never checks the paperwork”. A third wrote “We should buy a new scanner”. Which needs you?
✗ Not that one. The method’s answer is marked below; read why yours is not it.
The one reading — remind them to write first.✗ not this · your pick
The platform already holds the wall from anyone who has not posted a first card. They are looking at the question, not the wall.
The card about Jovan — message the author to change it.✗ not this
The author has already been shown it reads as an attack on a person, before it posted, and chose to post or edit. Nobody else was told. Your job is not to police what the reader already handled.
None of them — the rules and the reader handled all three; the scanner card will simply not be structured as a cause.✓ what the method does
Correct. The first-turn rule, the second pair of eyes and the later stages cover all three. The facilitator’s work at Generate is done by the rules; yours is to keep the room writing.
ON THIS PLATFORM
A first card must be posted before the wall shows; the reader speaks to an author before a card posts and never to you; a solution-shaped card gets no votes at Select and is not structured. If a card that names a person did post, you can ask its author to rephrase — they get a neutral wording to accept or ignore — and hiding a card needs the reader to agree it is spam, a threat, a slur or the like. Rudeness stays.
